Fashion industry in the country is excited. Behind the enthusiasm of society, the unrest of boredom in the design of the designers is a frightening specter for fashion designers.

In this 31st year, IPMI (Indonesian Fashion Designer Association) presents a different fashion show. Each design is not worn by the models that run on the catwalk, but displayed on the installation sculpture.

“Kita merasa masyarakat akan bosan kalau diadakan fashion show terus. Untuk itulah kita tampil beda dengan hanya menampilkan instalasi aja,” ujar Tri Handoko, ketua pengurus IPMI Trend Show 2018 di Senayan City, Jakarta Pusat, Selasa, 31 Oktober 2017.

We feel that the public will be bored if fashion show being held continuously. we want to look different by just showing the installation” said Tri Handoko, chairman of the board of IPMI Trend Show 2018 in Senayan City, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 31, 2017

The eight selected IPMI designers are welcome to show their Unity-themed designs. All draft Trend Show 2018 is also in accordance with the trend next year that is tailored to the style and characteristics of each.

Ke delapan desainer itu adalah Tri Handoko, Andreas Odang, Didi Budiarjo, Liliana Lim, Mel Ahyar, Stella Rissa, Sutanto Danuwidjaja, dan anggota terbaru IPMI, Norma Hauri.

The eight designers are Tri Handoko, Andreas Odang, Didi Budiardjo, Liliana Lim, Mel Ahyar, Stella Rissa, Sutanto Danuwidjaja, and the newest member of IPMI, Norma Hauri.

IPMI consists of artists who are individualistic. Only in IPMI we always united for the progress of Indonesian fashion and of course the progress of IPMI. So this year we take the theme of Unity because under any circumstances, as long as we are together, we can overcome it, “added Handoko.

The eighth selection of the designer itself, called Handoko, is not based on curation. Instead of the results of the inter-members, anyone who wants to appear is allowed.

“There is no compulsion for HIPMI members to create their collections, except for new members there must be an obligation to show their collections” he continued.
